Prof. Gihan ELNahas is an independent international member of faculty focusing on programme management. She has worked with different sectors and country programmes on health policies including Ministries of Health, donor agencies, over 70 non-governmental organizations, policy leads, academia and other entities working on national health programmes/projects. Her role includes supporting strategic planning, foster policy change, advise on project management, developing capacity building and communication plans in developing countries. Gihan has been a Lead Faculty for programme management courses in several countries including; Malaysia, India, Pacific Islands, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, UAE, Kenya, Lebanon and Brazil.
She has been a technical consultant on Bloomberg Initiative Grants programme; her role entailed reviewing plan development and monitoring implementation at country level. She has worked with the World Health Organization and several agencies on their grant proposals and grants project management. She has assisted several national programmes and technical advisory teams to develop health policy plans for assessment and monitoring.
Through her work as a consultant to The Union, she has served as faculty on health programme management trainings for a number of renowned health organisations. In this role, she has designed and developed customised courses, training material, facilitator guides, tabletop workshops, case study analysis trainings and online e-learning modules.
Gihan has been granted Professorship since 2007 and has been serving as University faculty for 30 years. Throughout her career, Gihan has received a number of awards of recognition from renowned entities for her technical expertise and advisory role.
