Elizabeth Pierre

Elizabeth Pierre - IMDP Courses

Elizabeth Pierre is a Training and Education Programme Officer at ICAP at Columbia University, supporting Global Health research fellowships and programmes. Prior to joining ICAP, Elizabeth worked as the Outreach and Education Coordinator for the Breast Cancer Resource Center at the YWCA-Princeton and as a Sexual Violence Prevention Specialist at SAFE in Hunterdon in New Jersey. She has also served as Adjunct Professor at Kean University in New Jersey, where she taught Human Sexuality and Nutrition, and has worked with Partners in Health in Rwanda. She holds a Masters in Public Health from Drexel University and a Project Management Professional Certification.

Elizabeth has a passion for youth engagement and women’s empowerment and health work. In 2016 she took on the role of Co-President of the NEXTGEN Board at the YWCA of Princeton and was nominated as their 2017 “Women of Color Leader” for the YWCA USA’s “Stand Against Racism” campaign. She was also selected as a YWCA delegate for the 61st session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Elizabeth was recently admitted into the Global Health Delivery Intensive programme at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, which systematises the study of healthcare delivery, encouraging collaboration among stakeholders and training professionals on the major concepts and skills in delivering value-based healthcare in context.
